Does Edgy Pink Exist?

Does Edgy Pink Exist?

Spoiler alert: yes, yes it does.

You see, I'm not a pink person in general. I love coral and every hue of orange, but I don't tend to reach for the pinks for my clothing or my surroundings. However, I do recognize that many people love pink, and I'm always striving to push my own boundaries around it. And, it's become fall 2014's color of the season so why not have some fun with it?

The Death of Skinny Pants?

The Death of Skinny Pants?

Something's up, guys. Something really interesting is up! Pants are getting less skinny, have you noticed? I love it! I personally really like fitted pants, and I think they're a great look on many women, but I also love a bit of variety. It makes me really happy to see pants like these cropping up!

Fall Weekend Style Ideas

Fall Weekend Style Ideas

Don't get upset! It's NOT FALL YET. Let's make that clear, but I do know that the fall stuff is coming to stores, and you might be looking around. Here is what I want to wear this fall on the weekends. Let's pick pumpkins, sip hot apple cider, and make winter vacation plans for somewhere warm and by the water, ok?

This Jcrew tshirt would look great with jeans, a puffy skirt that was overly feminine in a nice contrast with this shirt, or patterned harem pants like they did here.

Or this Born to Boogie tee, maybe Vote for Love on Saturday and this on Sunday? I'd love this with a blazer and a tight skirt for a date night out with my husband. Put on some heels and make him turn his head.

I have loved the look of multiple rings since I was a kid, and I still love this look.

In Person Styling and Personal Shopping: Shaunie

In Person Styling and Personal Shopping

Last week I went to Pennsylvania for a marathon personal styling day with the funniest client yet: Shaunie. We spent the day together, and we cracked each other up!

I had no idea that one person could have so many versions of the same necklace! And she had no idea that I would suggest that she wear more than one shade of blue! We were quite the pair, I tell ya! Here are a few tips from our time together (in her closet and also out shopping at the mall) that I thought might be useful to you, too.

Comfortable, Flattering Sweaters

Two Types of Comfortable, Flattering Sweaters

What a weekend! I've had many readers contact me about scheduling personal styling sessions-both in person and virtually. I'm thrilled to have interest and hope that my new readers will stick around! After Friday's incredible session with Marian AKA Miss Mustard Seed, I also had the joy of spending a few hours styling my friend, Lauren. We had previously done a virtual session, and this weekend we spent time in person together. I can't wait to show you the pictures later this week!

Let's talk about cold weather style. With the weather getting chilly, I can feel myself going a bit into hibernation, are you? All I want to wear are layers, layers, and more layers. At home, I just put on one layer after the next (yoga pants, socks, slippers, long-sleeved t-shirt, hoodie or cardigan) but when I go to work or to get tea with a friend, I want to wear something that's still comfortable but is more flattering. Here are a few items that I think could make the transition from warm and cozy to slightly more dressed up. Maybe you already have something like this in your closet?

A drape-front cardigan

I love this first one from Eileen Fisher, including how it's styled with the t-shirt and harem pants for a casual look. With a warmer shoe, I'd wear this exact outfit to the farmer's market or for a casual outing. For a more polished feel, swap out the pants for trousers that you like and maybe a brighter, more structure top. Below, find two less expensive versions of the same concept.
