6 Flattering Holiday Dresses

I love these dresses for their defined waists! For their versatility! For their bright, seasonal colors! There is nothing more flattering than cinching in a waist and showing off the curves around it. These dresses are also versatile and could be worn with tights and boots or a blazer to work just as easily as to a party. When you think about how often you could wear each dress, the cost-per-wear looks better and better!

I tried this dress on (in the interest of research, of course) at The Limited, and it's great! I think it would be a nice hostess dress for the holiday season since it's comfortable, has pockets, and is a bright color that will help you look put together even if you're feeling frazzled. It's also fairly loose around the stomach, which is always a plus in my book!

Also, Limited had some cute sweaters and blazers, but the quality was awful. The dresses, on the other hand, feel nice and heavy and read as higher quality. This particular one is also 30% off.

It would be cute with tights and a blazer or cardigan, and you could follow the lines of the dress and add a skinny belt at the waist if you wanted.
Similarly, I don't tend to love the quality of any of the knits at NY and Company, but I do find their dresses to be fairly priced and often unique. I really like the styling of the Eva Mendes collection they have right now. Even if you don't buy anything new, check out the ways they styled regular clothes and copy them for the holidays! But, if you're looking for something new that you can wear beyond just the holiday parties, this dress looked beautiful and flattering (love that high waist!) up close. I didn't try it on, though. I also love these: JCPenney and Coldwater Creek.

Oh-and while in NY and Co, I spotted (pun intended) this cute outfit. Yes, it's very matchy-matchy, but I think it's fun and festive to do something so matchy for the holidays, don't you? Wear it with winter white jeans, classic black pants and gold earrings, or leather leggings and ankle boots.

Also, I loved this roundup of gorgeous dresses from Asos and some of the looks you can steal from your daughter's closet from Fabulous After 40 would work nicely for daytime holiday looks!
