Virtual Session: Patricia from The Little Cottage on the Pond
My plan was to be asleep by 8PM tonight after a long, full, happy day, but I have to come back on here to gush about Patricia, the creative genius behind Little Cottage on the Pond. We had a virtual personal styling session yesterday afternoon (she's in Texas, I'm in Virginia), and it was the most fun.
Here's what it looks like on my end-here is my studio where I sit to do my virtual sessions.
When she first contacted me, she included her blog name, and I, of course, took a look at it. Little did I realize, I already had her blog bookmarked because I had seen a reference to her on Miss Mustard Seed's site. What a small world! As I looked through her blog, I came upon her post about her daughter, which was one of the most touching things written by a parent about a child that I have ever read. If you scroll through her incredible blog you'll find it.
She was a great sport about doing a virtual session-and we bonded over our love of stripes! She carried her iPad all around-I think I counted four rooms of the house I was "in." She put things on, showed them to me, and then ran around finding pieces to add or swap out when I said things like "It would be fun if you had a cardigan that was a similar color to add to that!" She shared with me that her routine has been to wear jean capris and a t-shirt, and I thought we could do better than that! In the end, I think she was happy with what came through: she has a great eye for vintage, feminine clothing with an easy, comfortable vibe that fits perfectly with her life as an artist and mother in Texas. I felt like I could see her personality and her inner light coming through the screen the more the clothes on the outside matched that big heart on the inside. I loved it!
But, since it was virtual, I don't have any pictures to share with you. However, she took a few pictures of her clothes laid out (like the soft, feminine pinks above) and maybe she'll update soon with some outfit shots! With four kids, I know she's got plenty to do aside from snapping photos! Be sure to read what she thought about it all here. It made me blush!
You can also take a look at the Pinterest board I set up for her here!
Update: here she is rocking a big Texas belt, rolling up her sleeves and cinching in that waist, showing that a brown palette can be sophisticated. Or here! Gah! So beautiful! And I love how confident she looks!
